Numerous human rights tribunals, arbitrators and courts have confirmed there is often more than one way to reasonably accommodate an employee. In providing reasonable accommodation, employers are not required to implement an employee’s preferred solution or fundamentally alter the essence of the employment contract – work in exchange for pay.
